week 13 Interactive Prototype III feedback


The form of the prototype
The main part of this prototype is a simple flash file which was script by flash cs6 and ActionScript 3. The application interface is designed by ActionScript, this prototype allow users to click the mouse to control the start, pause, stop and restart Stress Indicator and timer, it also allowed user press the keyboard to control the gorilla in the computer. When user click the start button or restart button, the timer start from 30 second to 0 and show “time is up” to stop the Stress Indicator, during the 30 second, user can press keyboard, gorilla in the computer beat its own chest. After 30 second the totally press of the keyboard will be calculate and show on the left top of interface.

The feedback
Concluding to interactive Prototype III  feedback, most of the design got the positive feedback, especially
in button understanding and most of them think timer setting make the stress indicator more challenge to play. There are still some people have different opinion on the time setting, some of them think it is a little bit long, so I am thinking to improve it to choose level in future so that it can have better user experience of different people. 

Some of the user expect for the physical prototype combine the prototype 3 to testing, because it will increase the real experience and have more fun to use. I will take it into consideration and improve in future work.

Revisit Definition of a Prototype

My understanding of prototyping

before I choosing this course, I know little thing about the prototyping, I thought it is simmer way of design. Now I have notice the important of prototyping is, from the lower prototyping to the high prototype, each part of it has the better way to design and get feedback from users.

I didn't realize the important of feedback getting from users, especially for the questions setting.

Week 11 Pugh Matrix for Representing Movement

Reproducing/representing movement in 3D space.

As we all know  that, the Theremin is difficult to Reproducing/representing. In my idea, the Theremin  is difficult to play because it can only use the  muscle memory to play it. When it become a physical experience, the problem will be solved at the same time. 

I am thinking to make it touchable or visible allows a musical composition to be accurately played on a Theremin.

first idea is making lights under the Theremin Showing the X- axis, y- axis, and z- axis location by different light, the Theremin is visible  in that way, which may be play as the other physical musical instrument like piano.

Second idea of mine is make Theremin Control by wind, setting the air blower under the Theremin and player can use their feeling to feel the Theremin  like a real string instrument.

week 10 Interactive Prototype II feedback


About Interactive Prototype II
I have designed this Interactive Prototype, to test physical input represented back to the user through the interface in the Stress Indicator. The main purpose is to evaluate the physical control the interface using the real interactive way instead press the keyboard. 

The first thing is testing the interactive feedback using the physical objects include the feedbacks users get when they wearing interactive T-shirt and interactive gloves to beat chest behaviors. I want to know if they think there is enough fun during the beat chest and Indicator the Stress control the gorilla in the computer to beat its own chest. Also I want to know if it is a good way to interactive with people and if it is a novel approach to physical interaction using the MakeyMakey to interact.

The other feature I want to test is if the physical interaction allows unimpeded testing of interactions connect with the interface. I’m looking forward to find a improve way to make sure the physical interaction more fluency.


The feedback
It is inspired me that most of the feedback for this prototype is positive and most of the user think physical interaction approach is good and can provide much fun when using it. This prototype is easy to understand and the physical prototype fluency enough to control. I think this physical prototype is very successful.

week 9 The interactive way development 2


The interactive way development was move on the second part of wearable T-shirt design. The main problem is how to keep it strong and can support long time stress beat test.

During this process, I have tested many material to find a effective way to finish this prototype. And I finally decided use the silver paper as the main material linking to MakeyMakey.

In my testing, one  layer silver paper  is easy to broken, we can see the silver paper  change from 10 beat test to 50 beat test, so I added it to 10 layer to test, and it can still use after 50 beat test. 




According to this strong stress test, I decided to makeing silver paper  as little stick to 
linking as the MakeyMakey.I make this as Version 3, I change the silver paper to link only some important point on the T-shirt, and cover the gloves with metallic wire. Make the wire long enough so that it will have more space for people to play. That make sure the prototype looks as a developed product and would not affect the usability.

Experience P’typing

Restaurant Dining Experience

for experience of both customer and waiter, the we can use a ring to keep both of customer and waiter to notified when waiting for food.
This may be annoying for others even the customer themselves, but it is useful for waiter who don't need to come to ask the customer by walking around, that can save a lot of time. 

For the customer experience, I prefer the light notice than the noise notice. because it has no sound and can also make the point in simmer way. Customer around would feel relax than a sudden sound came out.

week 8 The interactive way development 1


The first part of  interactive way development is how to use the gloves to linking to the T-shit.  

In Version 1the simple metallic board hang on the T-shirt and user it will work when user use their hand to touch the metallic board. In this version, MakeyMakey link the metallic board and people to the computer. After a few test on this version, I found it is poor Novel approach to physical interaction using the MakeyMakey and it may be hurt to beat chest without any protection which cannot support the comfortable user experience so I create version2.

I added this gloves as my second Version 2, I use gloves instead the user’s hand which means it looks more likely a gorilla , and I use the cooking silver paper to cover the T-shirt and gloves. In this version, people will not need to link the MakeyMakey directly and it is easy and clearly to control the device. Then I found it is easy to break the silver paper when we beat on the T-shirt, and it make really annoying sound when both T-shirt and gloves covered with silver paper. 

Before I finish this part design, I tried many way as I can to improve the usability and effectively of this physical prototype.
